Do not remove your stator for testing! All testing for the exciter coil and the ignition pulse generator is done at the ignition control module. You will need to remove your flywheel before you remove your stator. If you need help, check out my flywheel removal guide.

Your flywheel is secured to your crankshaft with a single nut torqued to 40 foot-pounds. To remove the flywheel, you need to stop the crankshaft from rotating, and this is done with a flywheel holding tool.
