This is how the carburetor works on 2-stroke engines. It’s very similar to a 4-stroke, but there are a few important differences.

    • They aren’t too different. The main difference is the 2-stroke uses a sliding valve and a spring in the carb cap to return the throttle valve. 4-stroke carburetors use a butterfly valve that is closed by a cable with a slight spring assist. All carbs are the same in their purpose, but every carb is different.
